A new Tourist Destination Action Plan for the Township of Boca Chica, located in the district of San Lorenzo, province of Chiriquí, was approved this Tuesday by the National Tourism Council (CNT).
The general administrator of the Tourism Authority of Panama (ATP), Iván Eskildsen, presented to the consideration of the CNT, together with his work team, a value proposal of the destinations to support the town of Boca Chica and this was approved.
Eskildsen highlighted that the diagnosis of this area focuses on its location, internal mobility, conditions, workforce, security and governance, as well as the recommended positioning for product development, through a defined strategy.
The action plan is made up of a diagnosis and a positioning strategy, based on the four strategic goals of the Sustainable Tourism Master Plan (PMTS): a better-known Panama, a more competitive Panama, a more decentralized tourism and tourism as a State policy. .
The Master Plan for Sustainable Tourism (PMTS), currently being implemented, establishes that the product strategy is defined for nine categories and twenty-one subcategories in heritage routes and the destination strategy that is made up of eight priority destinations, three support areas, a complement of offer and three destinations with singular potential.

Through the Inter-American Highway, in San Lorenzo, Chiriquí, you enter the town of Horconcitos and after a 20-minute drive you reach the corregimiento of Boca Chica, a coastal community that has acquired a great tourist boom in recent years because it is the gateway to entrance to the Gulf of Chiriquí National Marine Park, along with its beautiful islands of great natural beauty.
