More than 200,000 people entered the country during Tourism Week, according to data provided by the National Directorate of Migration. The period covers from Wednesday March 29 to Friday April 6.
Of a total of 213,548 people, 134,767 Uruguayans, 51,510 Argentines, 11,234 Brazilians and 2,244 Americans entered.
The main entry points were Paysandú with 50,540 people, followed by Fray Bentos with 44,853, Jump with 39,941, Cologne with 34,055 and the Carrasco International Airport with 18,942 admissions.
Besides, almost 290 thousand people graduated from Uruguay in that period.
57,942 people left over the General Artigas de Paysandú bridge, followed by Fray Bentos with 54,985 people, Colonia with 47,275 and Salto with 42,721.
In addition, 26,711 people left through the Carrasco International Airport, 18,495 through Río Branco and 14,693 through Chuy.
