National Tourism Sector revenues reached R $ 127.7 billion in the sum of the first seven months of the year – a 6.5% increase over the accumulated from January to July last year. The result is the largest for the period since 2012.
The figures, released on Wednesday (24), are from the Federation of Commerce of Goods, Services and Tourism of the State of São Paulo (Fecomerciosp), based on data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
In Julyschool holiday season, National tourism revenues reached R $ 19.7 billion, a growth of 4.3% over the same period last year. The result was the best for the month since 2012.
“The sector maintains positive results even in the face of economic slowdown and high interest rates. The heated labor market and the gradual reduction of inflation have contributed to relieve family budget and sustaining income, favoring travel planning, especially those in installments,” he points out in Fecomerciosp.

THE Highlight of the tourism sector in July was the state of Rio Grande do Sulwhich led the growth in revenues, reaching 24.6%compared to the same month of 2024. Then appear Mato Grosso do Sul (12.9%increase), Amazonas (10.9%) and Ceará (6.7%).
São Paulo Paulo, the largest market in absolute revenues, moved R $ 4.86 billion in the month-a growth of 2.1%compared to July 2024. In the states of Minas Gerais (-7.3%), Santa Catarina (-6%) and Tocantins (-5.7%), there was retraction.
“The scenario for national tourism should remain optimistic in the coming months, encouraged by the resumption of corporate trips, which tends to support above average growth in relation to other sectors of the economy,” says the entity.
