In Santa Cruz de la Sierra, La Paz, Cochabamba and other capitals of the country, tourism operators, travel agencies and relational workers in this field, They marched demanding improvements from the authorities for your sector.

In the capital of Santa Cruz, they gathered in the vicinity of the Urban Park, in the southern area of ​​the city, and moved to Boliviana de Aviación (BoA) facilities.

“We are trying to fight for the common good. Tourism is an industry that generates a lot of work and that is why we ask for clear rules,” Mariano Toledo, a worker in the sector, told EL DEBER.

In addition to the “liberation of the skies”, the modernization of Boliviana de Aviación (BoA) is being demanded, which will involve renewing its air fleet. Airfares are also being requested to be reviewed. to make them more competitive internationally, and to have exchange stability to guarantee the availability of foreign currency, especially dollars, in the tourism sector.

They also referred to the reduction in commission for the issuance of airline tickets, indicating that it went from 6% to 2%. “This measure increases the price of air tickets and it directly affects our sector, which is why we demand the restoration of the previous commission percentage for the issuance of air tickets,” the protesters stated.

Finally, they request a reduction in the tax burden for the tourism sector because the current one is considered “excessive” compared to other countries in the region.
