product of the step hurricane fiona last week, about 45 thousand tourists stopped arriving in the country, losses that apparently will not be significant due to the positive projections that the sector maintains, he assured yesterday David Colladominister of Tourism.

He affirmed that despite the suspension of flights and the loss of foreigners, tourism in the DR remains solid and constantly growing.

“The month of September aims to end as the best month in the history of tourism in the DR”he said after celebrating a mass in the Cathedral of the Americas for World Tourism Day.

He reported that some 50,000 foreigners entered the country over the weekend, returning to normality in the first days of the month.

“No month of September, in the history of tourism, has exceeded 400 thousand foreigners, that is to say that tourism continues with good projections,” Collado pointed out.

He stated that they have confirmed that reservations for the high season continue to increase.
He reported that only three hotels, from all over the country, are out of operation due to the passage of Hurricane Fiona.
