Tourism generated more than $3,200 million in Misiones in the first half of February in a “more than positive” season for the sector with a percentage of accommodation that exceeds 3.5 points compared to the same period of the previous year, considering the growth of the offer in a 13%, reported today from the provincial Ministry of Tourism.
From the tourist portfolio they specified that the summer season is “more than positive” regarding tourist activity.

In percentages, the city of Puerto Iguazú registered 82%; The Proud 60%; Aristobulo del Valle 60%; Oberá 85%; Posadas 73%; San Ignacio 84% and Eldorado with 85%.
In that framework, The Minister of Tourism of the province, José María Arrúa, expressed that work has been carried out in an “articulated manner with the different actors, both from the public and private sectors, understanding tourism as an economic activity and generator of employment”..
Meanwhile, the numbers of the movements specified that more than 105,000 arrivals were reached, more than 322,000 overnight stays and an average stay of 5.2 nights. Regarding this last figure, the official added that “prolonged stays were detected, exceeding 7 nights in some cases. This allows us to talk about the province also as a holiday destination”.
“It is estimated that the average cost per day per person almost reaches ten thousand pesos, which means more than 3,200 million economic movements in the province.”
“The numbers and the tourist movement have been keeping constant. This is very positive for the sector, it provides predictability. We expect that the last fortnight of February with the carnival holidays and facing the end of the high season, there will be a slight increase in occupancy and arrivals,” Arrúa remarked.
