The Ministry of Tourism invests more than 272 million pesos in the work of various works in the municipalities of Las Terrenas and El Limón in the province of Samaná, which were inaugurated today by the head of the institution, David Collado.
The interventions include access to beaches, paving stones, reconstruction of the fishing village, lighting, sewerage, among others, which are in charge of the Infrastructure Executing Committee of Turistic zones (CEIZTUR) of MITUR, are part of the plan strategic implemented to strengthen the tourist offer of Samaná.
“After a transparent process, today we return to Las Terrenas to start work on the Plaza del Pueblo de los Pescadores, a true symbol of this beautiful tourist destination, blessed by nature,” said Minister Collado.
In addition to the works, the reconstruction of the access road to the Palaya Estillero in El Limón will be carried out, reiterating the commitment of the Ministry of Tourism to invest to continue promoting Samaná.
The People’s Square project of the fishermen It is a work with an intervention area of 4,930 square meters of construction. The 190 linear meters of track, located along the entire front strip, will be paved, as well as a 960-square-meter square integrating the environment with the sales premises.
In addition to having 3 accesses to the beach, this project will house 10 food sales modules; as well as 2 modules for bathrooms, information point, general service rooms, lighting, signage.
The work includes general lighting, landscaping, a security system, a cistern, a pumping station, speed bumps, garbage cans and bicycle parking, among other facilities.
While, the reconstruction of the access road to Playa Estillero, in the municipality of El Limón, consists of the rehabilitation of the road with two traffic lanes of 2.50 meters each, which connects the Estillero beach, with the road to Las Terrenas, in a length of 2.45 kilometers, divided into four road axes towards the beach.
The work also includes the construction of triangular concrete ditches and embankment to form longitudinal drainage to guarantee the durability of the road to be built.
The intervention of the project contemplates repair of existing speed bumps, lighting, cleaning of the road. In addition, the construction of concrete ditches, slope protection, placement of asphalt concrete and horizontal and vertical road marking will be included.
The main provincial and municipal authorities were present in the activities, including; Teodora Mullix, governor, the mayors; Eduardo Esteban from Las Terrenas and Rafi Mercado from El Limón, among other officials, businessmen and guests.
