International tourism represented more than half of revenues (55% of the total), amounting to more than BRL 6.3 billion, and was the highest recorded in the last 12 years – 341% higher than in 2021 and 3.2% higher than in 2021. 2019.
On the other hand, the number of domestic trips fell by 10.5% compared to 2021, and totaled BRL 5.2 billion.
“This was the year of the resumption of international tourism. With the opening of borders, the cost-benefit ratio and the pent-up demand of recent years, we have observed an inversion of the recent scenario. Although we cannot identify the exact motivation, this behavior can be, in part, explained by the high prices of airline tickets in the country, expanding the opportunity to travel abroad”, said the president of Braztoa, Roberto Haro Nedelciu, through of note.
For Braztoa, the numbers for 2022 could be even better if it weren’t for the difficulties faced by the exchange rate variation and the lack of specialized labor.
For the purchase of trips, the payment option in more than five installments was preferred by most customers (50.1%). Credit card was the main means of payment, being used in 68.7% of sales; followed by Pix, with 19.1%; and bank slips, with 10.8%.
