Javier Acosta, the Millonarios fan who will undergo euthanasia in a few hours, recently recounted through a Facebook broadcast that during a walk in Tolima and after getting into a pool, he contracted a bacteria that little by little ended his life. The young man’s story quickly went viral and shocked millions of Colombians.

During an interview with Noticias Caracol, Javier said that a few days ago he was with his little daughter in the hospital bed, a moment in which they shared and talked about themselves. He stressed that he is a single father and that his family is everything to him, who have been by his side all the time throughout his process.
In the middle of the interview, his voice broke as he remembered his little girl: “I also have a little heart and it bursts,” he said, and then shared the message that the girl told him while sitting on his stretcher. “I have a daughter and she is so mature; she told me daddy, I’m going to tell you something, I love you with all my life, you are the first love of a daughter, you are my life, I love you, but I prefer that you be with God than to see you continue suffering in a bed,” Javier said about the conversation with his daughter.
Procedure will be this Friday
After many years of going to hospitals, undergoing surgeries and treatments for her illness, all of which were unsuccessful, and also claiming that the medications she was given for pain were no longer effective and waiting for a miracle that “never came,” she decided to undergo euthanasia.
This Friday, August 30, at around noon, Javier will leave this world after undergoing the assisted death procedure. “I say goodbye, sorry for everything good, for everything bad… this crack is leaving. Javi was born on June 6, 1988 and dies, God willing, on August 30, 2024,” he said in the broadcast.
