Hundreds of young people visited the Tertiary Educational Fair
With the participation of all the teaching centers of the department that have a higher courses within their proposal, a new edition of the Tertiary Educational Fair was successfully developed on Wednesday.
The presence of the director and teachers of IFSUL also stood out, the Federal Institute of the South based in the city of Yaguarón.
Hundreds of young people who study high school in secondary schools, the majority that this year will graduate from high school or UTU, passed through the different stands installed at the Melo headquarters of the Technological University.
“We are at the 4th Educational Fair of the Department of Cerro Largo, educational fair with the teaching level proposals that exist in the region such as the University of the Republic with Tacuarembó and Rivera, also with the house of thirty -three and also of Brazilian universities” highlighted the Licensed Mauricio de Souza Silveira.
“It is an educational fair at the tertiary level where the different teaching proposals were presented at that level of the department of Cerro Largo, of the region, and also, having this condition of border department, of universities and institutes that are on the other side of the border” The director of the Cucel held:
“It is the fourth edition. This year he played in Utec and what we tried to do is rotate through the different tertiary educational institutions that are based in the department. The first one was done at the house of the University of Cerro Largo, the last one was at the Teacher Training Institute and now we are in Utec. The idea is to continue working for next year in another institution of the department that has teaching proposals at the tertiary level” The member of the Departmental Education Commission said.
Souza Silveira said that the fundamental objective of this educational fair is to bring public information to citizens about the different teaching level proposals that exist in the department and in the region. “Many times, when we walk inside Cerro Largo, for the smallest locations, we perceive that not the entire population is aware of the teaching proposals at this level. Sometimes they have the race here in the department OA 100 or 200 kilometers and for lack of knowledge or due to lack of information from the institutions themselves go to Montevideo or go to other more distant places, having very interesting teaching proposals in this region” He pointed out.
The activity was aimed at students who are culminating higher secondary education. “The different levels of high school and UTU come to visit us, but it is also open to all citizens, to all that father or that mother who also wants to inform or have information for their children or for themselves because the tertiary teaching proposals many times inside also lead us to have students of 40, 50 or 60 years who register. This activity is open to all public and all the interested public” The director of the House of the University of Cerro Largo remarked.
