Early this Thursday morning a cold front enteredaccompanied by torrential rain that caused flooding in some provinces of Santa Cruz; while in the capital of Santa Cruz only some flooded streets and avenues and the fall of a tree on the fence of a home in the Three Thousand Plan were recorded.

In Ascensión de Guarayos, according to correspondent Désther Ágreda, the showers arrived in the early hours of Thursday morning, some houses in peripheral neighborhoods were flooded and the streets turned into streams. The fall of a power pole left several areas without power. The students were late in arriving at their educational units, as were the public officials. The downpour was welcomed in rural areas due to a multi-month drought.

Around noon, the rain reached Santa Matías. Journalist Juan Pablo Cahuana reported that the temperature has begun to drop. The rains are highly anticipated in the Pantanal sector where forest fires still continue.

In Cuatro Cañadas also had floods in several streets and avenues, which hinders the transit of vehicles and motorcycles, according to journalist Néstor Lovera.

The National Service of Meteorology and Hydrology (Senamhi) issued an alert due to sudden drops in temperature (between 9 and 12 degrees). The frosts will affect the departments of Tarija, Chuquisaca, Beni, Cochabamba, Santa Cruz and Pando.

As for forecasts, the Senamhi forecasts a minimum temperature of 14 degrees Celsius for this Friday in the capital of Santa Cruz and a maximum of 25 degrees. For Saturday, a minimum of 11 degrees and a maximum of 25 degrees.
