Tony Madrigal, founder of the National Association of Cuban-American Educators, dies

MADRID, Spain.- José Antonio Madrigal, founder of the National Association of Cuban-American Educators (NACAE), died on December 28 in the United States.

His remains will be exposed this Thursday, January 5 at the Maspons Funeral Home in Florida, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. While the funeral procession will leave Maspons at 11:00 in the morning towards the Catholic Church of Saint Kevin. His body will be buried at the Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, NACAE reported in a statement.

Tony Madrigal is a former president and member of the NACAE Board of Directors. He was also Professor Emeritus at Auburn University in Alabama, where he directed the College of Foreign Languages ​​and Literature.

His publications include New Historicism and the Comedia: Poetics, Politics and Praxis (1997).

“NACAE has lost one of its most faithful pillars,” said the prestigious Cuban institution in the exile. Just as he conveyed his condolences to friends and family of Tony Madrigal.

The National Association of Cuban-American Educators (NACAE) was founded in 1990 as a non-profit organization.

Among its objectives is to represent in the United States and Puerto Rico the interests of Cuban-American educators at all levels (from primary to university) and in all disciplines.
