In a Plenary Chamber session, the Supreme Court of Justice will elect tomorrow, Thursday, the representative of the Judicial Branch in the National Election Jury (JNE) and who will finally assume the presidency of that organization.
The conclave has been called for 12:30 p.m. and, as reported Peru21the only candidate to be the new head of the electoral body is Supreme Judge Roberto Burneo Bermejo.

As is known, the replacement of Jorge Luis Salas Arenascurrent head of the JNE, will have a mandate that ends in 2028 and will therefore be in charge of organizing the 2026 general elections.
That same year, elections will also be held to elect regional and municipal authorities.

Burneo is from Piura, he is 47 years old and just 2 years ago, in 2022, he began his judicial career after being elected supreme judge by the National Board of Justice (JNJ).
