Changes in the Public Ministry. The acting prosecutor of the Nation, Tomás Aladino Gálvezremoved the prosecutor Germán Juárez Atoche of the Lava Jato Special Teamafter more than 8 years in office. Likewise, he ordered that Juárez Atoche be promoted as provisional senior prosecutor of Lima Centro.
The decision of the head of the Prosecutor’s Office was made official in the official newspaper El Peruano through Resolution of the Prosecutor’s Office No. 3680-2025-MP-FN.

In that sense, Juárez Atoche will be in charge of the Third National Superior Prosecutor’s Office Specialized in Money Laundering Crimes, a place that was occupied by the prosecutor Elizabeth Peralta Santurwho is currently serving preventive detention within the framework of the investigations of the case Andrés Hurtado ‘Chibolín’ for the alleged crime of influence peddling. This decision within the Public Ministry must be notified, as stated in the resolution, to the National Board of Justice (JNJ), the Supreme Court, the Presidency of the Board of Superior Prosecutors of the Lima Central Fiscal District, the National Coordination of the Prosecutor’s Offices Specialized in Money Laundering Crimes and the coordinator of the Special Team of Prosecutors, Rafael Vela Barba.
Germán Juárez was in charge of the cases against Martín Vizcarra and Ollanta Humala
The withdrawal of Juárez Atoche from the Lava Jato Special Team and appointment to the Asset Laundering Prosecutor’s Office occurs after having obtained historic sentences against the former presidents Ollanta Humala and Martin Vizcarraas well as against the former first lady, Nadine Heredia.
In April of this year, Humala and Heredia were sentenced to 15 years in prison for the contributions of Odebrecht and the Venezuelan government to the 2006 and 2011 presidential campaigns.
While Vizcarra was sentenced to 14 years in prison for the Lomas de Ilo and Hospital de Moquegua cases, for having received S/2.3 million bribes.
