The main referents of Together for Change (JxC) will begin in the coming months to unfold an agenda of proposals with meetings of technical tables by sectors and tours of the provinces, in an attempt to show proposals and thus placate the internal ones raised between the different candidates for the Casa Rosada next year.

As Télam learned, the call to the JxC National Table, the main governing body of the opposition coalition, is scheduled for this week. The agenda for this meeting was already agreed upon in previous meetings held by the governor of Jujuy, Gerardo Morales, the head of the Buenos Aires government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, and the head of the PRO, Patricia Bullrich.

As a space source explained to this agency, “JxC is proposing a very proactive agenda, with meetings of sectoral tables that go through the different provinces with very dynamic technical teams on issues such as education, health, public policies, regional economies and with meetings with the different productive sectors”.

In this context, in the week that is ending, former President Mauricio Macri arrived in the country from the United States and held a political summit with Rodríguez Larreta, Bullrich and former Buenos Aires governor María Eugenia Vidal. The central theme of the meeting was to begin to outline a central point: how the PRO will choose its presidential candidate.

At the dinner, held in a restaurant on the Costanera, two ideas floated: elect the candidate in an internship with members or resolve the issue in the PASO. There was no agreement on this point and they agreed to meet again later.

Speculation suggests that Patricia Bullrich prefers to go to a PASO and Larreta would be more in favor of defining the candidacies inside the party and then compete in a primarybut against radicalism and not with different “yellow” candidates.

Sources close to the meeting pointed out that the three “agreed on the main value that PvC unity means” and agreed “not to tense personal positions that affect this value”.

At that PRO summit, everyone agreed to lower the decibels to the internal ones, media and Chicano statements that undermine the unity of the PRO, particularly between the sectors of Bullrich and Rodríguez Larreta. In an attempt to show this unity, Macri and Larreta toured a school in the Pompeya neighborhood on Tuesday.

From the side of radicalism, meanwhile, the discussion of how to settle the presidential candidate is also in all the internal conversations.

Gerardo Morales came out to set a position and said that “The idea is to resolve the internal PvC in the PASO; we in radicalism are going to have previous points of agreement, but in what is the PvC space, the decision will be made in the PASO”.

The head of the UCR expressed that the objective of the opposition coalition is “to reach the end of the year with a government program” and assessed that “whoever is going to govern will not have their own majorities in Congress and will have to seek consensus with other political forces”.

The other candidate of radicalism, Facundo Manes, is still active but with a lower profile from the media: he makes tours and walks through different neighborhoods, meets with the so-called “red circle” of businessmen and prepares an international tour to show himself as a presidential candidate for Spain and the United States.

Manes avoids definitions on current issues, escapes the “political thread” and follows his strategy of building his candidacy face to face with society: he believes that the format of neighborhood tours allowed him to garner 1.2 million votes in the legislative elections as a Buenos Aires candidate and plans to replicate the format towards the presidential elections.
