The Secretary of International Economic Relations, Cecilia Todesca Boccoassured this Wednesday that “the integration agendas with the new elected government” of Brazil “are going to be very good and are very relevant to what the world is discussing.”
Along these lines, Todesca Bocco maintained that with the next government there is “a harmony that has to do with the productive chains and with integrating the region and Mercosur with the rest of the world, adding value, science and technology, and employment in the region”.
In this sense, he compared that this proposal “is not the same as an indiscriminate opening in which our countries are only suppliers of raw materials and all the value that is added happens elsewhere and therefore quality employment is generated elsewhere. another place”.
“Brazil is a huge economy and for Argentine companies that is a very important market”, stated Todesca Bocco on radio 10, and remarked that in Argentina “there are sectors that are strategic today and that we can work together with Brazil”.
It is very important to strengthen the platform that is Mercosur, because we have all the resources”
In that sense, he specified that these sectors are “energy, food, health, strategic minerals”, and pointed out that they are “vectors of development that achieve inward linkages if things are done well”.
“Because all the companies that supply goods and services for each of these sectors are able to develop, generating jobs and an internal market,” the official said.
In addition, he mentioned that in the first semester of 2023 “Argentina will have the pro tempore presidency of Mercosur”.
In this framework, he announced that they have “many proposals to make to our partners to generate more work and national and regional production.”
“We think it’s very important promote the platform that is Mercosurbecause we have all the strategic resources, we know how to produce things, and we can generate state-of-the-art science and technology”, concluded Todesca Bosco.
