“Today we begin to write a new story”: Francia Márquez on the election results

This Sunday, June 19, Colombians exercised their right to vote to elect the new president of Colombia. The winner on election day was Gustavo Petro, a candidate for the Historical Pact.

After the results of the elections, Francia Márquez thanked the citizens who voted on election day.

Thanks to the Colombian men and women who came out today to vote en masse with dignity, overcoming fear and hoping to live tasty and in peace,” said Francia Márquez, the new vice president.
