With a march that departed from Rental Zone, in Plaza Venezuela, to Bolívar Avenue in Caracas, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) has summoned social movements and political structures to defend sovereignty and peace, in a sample of support to the government of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, before the threats of the United States.
In the immediate vicinity of Cantv, on Libertador Avenue, Nahum Fernández, Vice President of Mobilization and PSUV events, stressed that the people are raising a revolutionary message to tell the world that they do not get into the country.
“They do not get into Venezuela because the people are going to go out to defend their sovereignty and national independence,” he said.
He said that “those of us who feel children of Bolívar, are willing to wield the rifle if they dare to attack us.”
For her part, the mayor of Caracas and also a member of the National Directorate of the PSUV, Carmen Meléndez, said that this mobilization has made an appearance “all of us who love the country and we are willing to defend it in any circumstance, wherever and when it is.”
He stressed that before the siege that the country faces daily, the people are preparing to know what to do before a possible aggression by the US.
In that sense, he recalled that millions of Venezuelans and Venezuelans have attended the call of the Head of State to enlist in the militia and combatant bodies to receive all the necessary training regarding the management of weapons and the roles to be carried out in the face of a situation of attack by foreign forces.
“First, the town went to the barracks; the second week the military went to the communal communes and circuits (…) now with this mobilization we tell the empire that if they dare here is a town willing to do everything for the defense of the homeland.”
Conscious people in the street
Attendees stressed that with the feeling of love of the country mobilize to defend the right of a people to decide their destiny freely and sovereignly.
Agustín Camacho, from the state La Guaira, said that “it is not about defending a man, but the dream of a people who was born to be free (that is why) we tell the empire that we are in the street without fear of defending the peace of our country.”
“Here we are willing with President Nicolás Maduro to continue defending sovereignty so that our children can live in tranquility (…) we are armed to defend the dream of the Liberator, President Nicolás Maduro and Venezuela completely. Venezuela is respected!, Here we are removed,” he added.
Eucenis Fernández, a member of the Mothers Caredary Movement, said that today the world is a witness of the Civic-Militar Union that Commander Hugo Chávez boosts for the defense of the homeland.
“Commander Chávez knew that an aggression was coming because we are an oil country, we are a rich country, but today the American empire is seeing the response of a town that says: we are not afraid,” he said firmly.
