TODAY is the last day of the trial of Alejandro Toledo

This Tuesday the 15th the trial against the former president resumes Alejandro Toledo. This is the last hearing of the process against him and, subsequently, a sentence will be handed down.

Yesterday, Monday, October 14, the Public Ministry gave its arguments before the Collegiate Criminal Court and reiterated the request for 20 years in prison against Toledo Manrique. During the meeting, an impasse occurred between prosecutor José Domingo Pérez and the former president, who rebuked the representative of the Public Ministry for ensuring that Toledo requested a bribe of US$ 35 million

This Monday the trial against former President Alejandro Toledo for the Peru-Brazil Interoceanic Road Corridor Project case resumes. The session is in charge of the Collegiate Criminal Court of the National Superior Court
Collegiate.

In this session, prosecutor José Domingo Pérez will give his arguments before judges Zaida Pérez Escalante, Inés Rojas Contreras and Richarth Quispe Vilcapoma, to justify his request for prison for 20 years and five months against the former president, as well as the payment of compensation civil.

The Public Ministry attributes Toledo to having received millionaire bribes from the Odebrecht company to obtain the tender for sections II and III of the South Interoceanic Highway during his government (2001-2006).
