After the promulgation of a presidential decree at the end of 2023November 20th will be, for the first time in history, a national holiday. It is on this day – which will be next Wednesday in 2024 – that National Zombie and Black Consciousness Day is celebrated. 
The date, established by Law No. 12,519 of November 10, 2011 and which was already a holiday in some states in Brazil, is a tribute to the memory of Zumbi dos Palmares, one of the greatest leaders of black resistance against slavery in Brazil and a symbol of fight for freedom. Furthermore, this is a day to reflect on the importance of combating racism and promoting racial equality. The anniversary has already been the subject of matters of Brazil Magazine (program of National Radio) and from National Radio Agency.
In Rio de Janeiro, the holiday (which started on Friday, November 15th) will be extended this year. This will occur because the city will host, starting tomorrow (18), the 2024 G20 Leaders Summit. Due to the international forum, which brings together the leaders of the 20 largest economies in the world, the city will have holidays on November 18th and 19th.
In addition to Black Awareness Day, the week has other important celebrations. On the 19th, Flag Day (which celebrates the institution of the national republican flag in 1889, after the Proclamation of the Republic) and National Cordelista Day are celebrated. The date is a tribute to the birth of one of the greatest poets in cordel literature: Leandro Gomes de Barros. His story was told by MEC antennafrom the MEC Radio, in 2019. The cordel (with a focus on valuing female cordelists), was the subject of a Reporting Paths, from the TV Brasil, in 2020:
On the 21st, World Television Day is celebrated. The celebration was created by the UN and aims to value the vehicle’s capacity as a means of communication with an impact on society. The following day, November 22nd, is International Musician’s Day. In 2021, the National Radio Agency wrote an article about the date remembering cases that show that disability is not a barrier to the talent of musicians:
The week also has dates that help preserve the memory of important figures. November 18th marks 110 years since the birth of the painter, engraver and professor from Rio Grande do Sul Iberê Camargo. The Iberê Camargo Foundation, which passed away in 1994, was the subject of an edition of Discovering Museums (from the TV Brasil) in 2015.
