September arrived this Sunday and in the first week of the month we have, in addition to Independence Day (also called September 7), dates that celebrate the environment, women and vehicles. Brazilian Communication Company.
On September 5th, Amazon Day is celebrated. The date, which helps us remember the importance of preserving the largest tropical forest in the world, was created in 1850. On that occasion, Emperor D. Pedro II determined the creation of the province (now state) of Amazonas. Brazil Agency and the National Radio Agency have already created content on the topic in 2022 and 2023. On the same day (5), there is also International Indigenous Women’s Day. The date was created in honor of the Aymara warrior Bartolina Sisa Maturana. Bartolina, together with her sister-in-law Gregoria Apaza, led the indigenous resistance against Spanish colonialism in Bolivia, paying with her life for her courage in 1871. Another date celebrated on September 5th is the International Day of Charity. The date, which was established by the UN to promote solidarity and altruism, is an opportunity for us to reflect on ways to reduce poverty, hunger and inequality in the world. In addition to the 5th, other dates also mark the week. Today, September 1st, is Physical Education Professional Day. The date honors professionals responsible for promoting health, well-being and physical development through sports and educational activities and was the theme of the National Afternoonfrom the National Radio, in 2019 and from the Brazil Agency in 2022.
Vehicle Anniversary EBC
Three radio vehicles of the Brazilian Communication Company are also highlights of the week. Today, September 1st, is the anniversary of National Radio of the Amazon. The vehicle, a landmark in communication for remote areas of the region, was founded in 1977. The origin of the station was told in this matter of National Reporter in 2017.
Two dates related to MEC Radio are also celebrated during the week, more precisely on September 7th. It was on this day, in 1923 (exactly one year after the first radio broadcast in Brazil), that the Radio Society was founded by Edgard Roquette-Pinto. On this same date, only in 1936, the radio was donated to the Ministry of Education and Public Health and began to be called MEC Radio. To close the list, we have the holiday of the week. Brazilian Independence Day, celebrated on September 7, is one of the most important dates in the country and marks Brazil’s independence from Portugal in 1822.
