Today is Son’s Day in Uruguay: why is it celebrated?

The creation of this new date arose as an initiative of merchants, service providers and unions associated with the Chamber of Commerce.

In 2021 the Chamber of Commerce and Services of Uruguay (CCSUY) identified a very broad audience that did not have a “day of”. In turn, it was found that in the month of October there were no other commercial dates that do not coincide with other commercial dates.

This year the celebration of son’s day It’s this Sunday, October 16. under the slogan: “your children are no longer children, but not children”.

“It is hoped that with the efforts of merchants from all over the country, it will be possible in the medium term Children’s Day is installed as a traditional date referent of the meeting, the family and the celebration”, assures the official communication of the CCSUY.

The union manager of the Ccsuy, Santiago Macciópointed to the program long live the afternoon Radio Sarandí, that this decision is based on an analysis process that has been carried out with different actors. “Advertising agencies, media agencies, shopping malls and many business sectors that are linked to the Chamber of Commerce both regionally and by sector, identified the need for a new business date”, he explained.
