Today begins the Series of Eight of the National Youth Baseball Championship

The Panamanian Baseball Federation announced that this Thursday, January 26, the Series of 8 of the LIV National Youth Baseball Championship, Caja de Ahorros Cup, will begin in honor of Magaly Medina.

The leader of the standings in the regular round meets the West at the Horacio Mena de Chame stadium in the first of seven scheduled games, where the winner of 4 games advances to the semifinals.

In the other game scheduled for Thursday night, the current youth baseball champions, Potros de Panamá Este, will face Herrera at the Claudio Nieto de Monagrillo stadium,

Four games would be scheduled for Friday night, Chiriquí faces Bocas del Toro at Calvin Byron in Changuinola and Metro goes against Coclé at José Antonio Remón Cantera in Aguadulce.

The matches between Potros del Este and Herrera at Claudio Nieto and Occidente against Oeste will also be played on Friday night, as part of the continuity of those series.

Reinforcement Pike…

The Panamanian Baseball Federation held this Wednesday night the draw for reinforcements, where each team that advances to the Series of 8, had the right to choose a player, from the eliminated teams or from their reserves.

Panamá Oeste and their manager Carlos Maldonado were lucky and selected first after a lottery, choosing pitcher Marco Pimentel from Veraguas. Los Potros del Este chose left-hander Ángel Soriano, Herrera chose José López from Los Santos, Bocas del Toro selected Isaac Rodríguez from Veraguas, Metro looked for Luis García in its reserve, Coclé did the same with pitcher Héctor Noriega, Chiriquí brings Manuel Moreno from his roster of 40 and the West went with Moisés Castillo, a right-handed pitcher from Santeño.
