More than seven hours of precautionary hearing elapsed and Luis Fernando Camacho, governor of Santa Cruz, had not spoken. It was at the end of the same hearing that his lawyer, Martín Camacho, asked the judge to authorize the use of the word.

The message lasted just over a minute and was addressed to the population and not to the court. “To my people who elected me as their governor and to all the Bolivians who fought against fraud, I tell them noI’m never going to give up” He began his short speech.

He justified his actions in 2019 and his current commitment since “This fight is for democracya fight for Bolivia”. And he pointed to the massismo as responsible for his arrest and the violence that is experienced in the country.

“To the Bolivians who listen to me, nor let the masismo impose a dictatorship like in Venezuela and Cuba”, said the governor from Santa Cruz.

At the end of his brief speech, he asked that “God enlighten your authority and everyone who is currently connected”.
