The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Nation, Julián Domínguez, assured in the Buenos Aires town of July 9 that “to defend the interest of Argentines, we must deepen the common vision about the future.”
This was stated by the head of the agricultural portfolio during a meeting with the directors of the family business Lácteos Aurora, which suffered a fire in two warehouses of the plant last November.
In addition, it formalized the delivery of financial assistance for $ 30 million to the company -which has already resumed part of its operations-, which will make it possible to protect jobs and continue the reconstruction process.
After touring the facilities, Domínguez stressed that President Alberto Fernández entrusted him “to be close to our producers, to all those who invest and add value and especially to our workers.”
“We are working so that we have more employment, more production, with public-private interaction,” said the head of the agricultural portfolio, who remarked that “to defend the interest of Argentines, we must deepen the common vision of the future; rescue the best of us; build a common project “.
In that sense, he remarked that “Lácteos Aurora, its managers and its workers (..) are a testimony of hope because when we entered here we did not only see what had happened, which was a catastrophe, but that they were all pulling together for what came”.
“This is how we have to face the challenges that we have as a country; this is the Argentina that we all want, that we all push forward,” he added, and affirmed that “this life testimony also speaks of the capacity that producers, businessmen and workers have. Argentines “
For its part, the board of directors of the family business, Paola Toledo, said: “We decided not to lower our arms, to return to production; thanks to the support of the Ministry in charge of Julián Domínguez, we have managed to be on our feet again.”
“It seemed that it would be impossible to stand up again and yet here we are. Thank you for believing in us,” he completed.
According to the National Dairy Directorate, in 2021 -and for the second consecutive year- national production in the dairy sector will grow.
According to estimates, it will be around 11,500 million liters of milk produced, with a growth of at least 4% and that will deepen the strong recovery in activity that was registered the previous year.
In turn, in domestic consumption and exports the positive data for 2020 also consolidated; In this sense, per capita consumption will close the year at around 187 liters, when in 2019 it stood at 182 liters.
In the case of dairy sector exports, they will reach 3,000 million liters and exceed US $ 1,300 million.
