The Queen of Rock’n Roll has died today at her home in Küsnacht, near Zurich, Switzerland, according to various media outlets, echoing statements by her representative.
Turner “has passed away peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long illness,” continues the report from her entourage.
“With his music and boundless passion for life, he captivated millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow. Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music. All our sincerest sympathy goes out to her family. Her real name was Anna Mae Bullock. She was born in Tennessee on November 26, 1939, and had an extraordinary career of more than 50 years as a singer, songwriter, actress, dancer, and choreographer.
