Lacalle Pou presented awards to guasqueros and grand champions
The president toured the rural premises and presented awards to guasqueros, accompanied by the president of the Banco República, Salvador Ferrer, and representatives of the Rural Association of Uruguay (ARU).
“País de Guasqueros” celebrates its 5th edition at the Expo Prado, in the stables area, with the presence of more than thirty artisans, both beginners and experts, who came from various parts of the country. The competition, declared of national interest, is held in two categories: Work and Tiento Fino-Paseo, additionally the best stand, the best piece and the guasquero revelation are awarded. In this edition, the distinction was defined by juries from Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil. The winner in the Tiento Fino category was Facundo Maradei, and in Work, Daniel Benítez. The revelation of the contest was Francisco Sorrondegui and the creator of the best piece, Antonio Larrosa.
Later, Lacalle Pou moved to the ring to award the prizes to the categories of Grand Champion Male of the Criollo and Quarter Mile breeds and Grand Champion Pedigree of Corriedale.
In the Criollo Grand Champion Male category, the winner was the specimen from box 655 of Tañido Buenazo, bred in Argentina. In the Quarter Horse breed, the ribbon was awarded to the Falco stud and the Grand Champion Pedigree Corriedale award went to box 786 of the Tedesco stud.
