Authorities from the Colombian Ministry of Transport and the National Institute of Roads of that country, made a tour of the Tienditas bridge, located in the border with Venezuela to determine the state of the bridge structure within the framework of the reopening of the colombian-venezuelan border.
It should be noted that in Tienditas there are still 12 containers crossed, which were used to pass an alleged humanitarian aid that was preparing parties of the Venezuelan far right with the support of today Former Colombian President Álvaro Uribe and the United States, at the time, under the mandate of Donald Trump.
According to the evaluation of the Colombian authorities, the 12 containers have not affected the structure of the bridge.
“The technical review on the Colombian side is fine, the containers if you take a truck that loads containers are few for what this bridge can load,” assured Guillermo Reyes, Minister of Transportation, Blue radio highlights.
The minister insisted that he specified that repowering work should be done on the other three international bridges that link Norte de Santander with Venezuela, but this issue will be addressed with the Venezuelan authorities to agree on when these tasks would be carried out.
The Tienditas Bridge is made up of three parallel bridges built over the Táchira River, two for vehicles with three lanes in each direction and a pedestrian bridge with a 10-meter-wide roadway; all with a length of 280.10 meters and which has not yet been released after the breakdown of relations between the two countries.
