Alberto ‘Tico’ Mercado, composer of some vallenato songs such as ‘Forget her’, ‘Tell her’ and ‘Come back’was sent to jail this afternoon in the city of Valledupar.

A judge issued an insurance measure for him in a prison center after the complaint filed by his ex-partner, María Fernanda Ariza, who accused him of having beaten him seven months ago.

The judicial proceeding was carried out this Tuesday in the afternoon in a court in the capital of Cesar.

The facts

It should be remembered that María Fernanda Ariza recorded an audio where she revealed that she was the victim of an attempted femicide by the vallenato composer.

It all happened on October 13, 2021, when they shared a meeting together with a group of friends in a house in Valledupar.

According to the young woman, they were no longer dating and despite an old threat, the relationship did not end on bad terms.

However, the man apparently, Mercado would have been annoyed that a man courted his ex-girlfriend on WhatsApp.

The vallenato composer reacted by hitting his sentimental ex-partner.

María Fernanda suffered blows to the face that caused her septum to twist and several cracked teeth.

The next day he filed a complaint with the Attorney General’s Office, a complaint that today has the vallenatero under arrest and in prison.
