Tibisay Lucena, former president of the National Electoral Council of the Venezuelan regime, dies

MIAMI, United States. – Tibisay Lucena, former president of the National Electoral Council (CNE) of Venezuela and current Minister of University Education, died this Wednesday of undisclosed causes, according to reported on Twitter the executive vice president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez.

“Tibisay Lucena has changed its landscape. She is the distinguished daughter of Venezuela, former president of the Electoral Power and Minister of University Education. She was a true militant for her life, and she fought her last battle without respite,” Rodríguez wrote.

None of the spokespersons for the Maduro regime who wrote or replied to condolence messages specified the cause of Lucena’s death. They all limited themselves to highlighting the role of the Chavista militant, considered by the opposition a key piece of electoral fraud in Venezuela.

“Honor and glory to the woman who cultivated loyalty to her country in the line of duty, in defense of republican institutions and peace, in love for national identity,” wrote the regime’s Communications Minister, Freddy Ñáñez .

After 14 years as its president, Lucena said goodbye to the CNE in June 2021. In that period of time, she led 18 elections, several of which were described as “fraudulent” by the opposition and a part of the community. international (including the re-election of Maduro in 2018 and the vote for a National Constituent Assembly in 2017).
