Empresa de Transmisión Eléctrica, SA (ETESA) presented the results obtained in the Recycling Program, developed during the first quarter of this year, which show a significant impact in reducing the country’s carbon footprint.
The report highlights the work carried out between January 1 and March 31, 2023, aimed at caring for the environment, together with the adoption of a recycling policy that produced the following results, with the collection of:
• + 340 Kilograms of cardboard
• + 1000 Kilograms of paper
• + 15 kilograms of metals
• + 24 kilograms of Tetrapak
• + 45 kilograms of plastic
Thanks to this recycling work, the reduction of the carbon footprint was achieved through the recycling of + 5.30 Tons of CO2 (Carbon Dioxide), with which ETESA shows a qualitative proof of its commitment to preservation and care. enviroment.
Additionally, the measures adopted in the five ETESA offices, both in Juan Díaz, Sun Tower, National Dispatch Center, and in its headquarters in Coclé and Chiriquí, produced other important results, among which are: savings of more than 2,260 liters of gasoline, 38,500 liters of water, a saving of more than 10,250 MWH, together with the rescue and salvage of 24 trees.
The general manager of ETESA, Eng. Carlos Mosquera Castillo, pointed out about these results, the full belief of the company “in a sustainable Panama and a better future for our environment and for future generations.”
He stressed that ETESA is a “socially and environmentally responsible” company, in which “we recycle, conserve and support all actions for a greener country.”
He reiterated that ETESA maintains the commitment that by the second quarter of 2023 it will exceed the results obtained in the recycling program, and increase the resources saved, becoming a business model to follow.
