In September 2019, President López Obrador reported that there were 1.8 doctors in contact with patients for every 1,000 inhabitants; by September 2022, he reported that the figure had increased to just 1.9. In the same period, the number of nurses per 1,000 inhabitants went from 2.5 to 2.6, the number of beds per 1,000 inhabitants remained exactly the same, at 0.7, while the number of outpatient units per 100,000 inhabitants went from 17.3. to 15.5, that is, there was a retracement of 1.8.
