Three years after the first case of covid-19 in the DR, this is how the numbers are

This Wednesday, March 1, marks three years since the Ministry of Public Health confirmed the first positive case of covid-19 in the Dominican Republic.

According to the most recent bulletin, issued by the National Epidemiology Directorate, the total number of deaths is 4,384 while the accumulated cases amount to 660,790, with 14 being notified in the last 24 hours.

According to the aforementioned report, 115 cases remain active, while 656,291 have recovered from the virus and 3,154,721 have been ruled out by laboratory tests.

In the last 24 hours, 945 have been performed, of which 196 were PCR and 749 antigenic, for a total of 3,815,511 samples processed.

Daily positivity stands at 2.35% and in the last four weeks at 1.18%. While the fatality rate is 0.66% and the mortality per million inhabitants stands at 419. 58.

The Grid Hospital has 2,373 COVID beds of which none are occupied, for 0.0 percent, as in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds, of 585 available, there are none occupied. While, of a total of 469 system fans, there are no connected so far.
