Disodado Cabello affirmed that what happened was “a new coup d’état” launched by a group of “traitors”; while for Manuel Cristopher Figuera that day became a “betrayal of the Venezuelan people” by some of those involved with whom it was decided to “end the dictatorship” and who changed their minds at the last minute
Three years after the events of April 30, an event led by Juan Guaidó and Leopoldo López in Caracas, together with a group of soldiers against the administration of Nicolás Maduro, controversies continue between supporters of the opposition and the ruling party.
The remarks made this Saturday by the first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), God given hair and General Manuel Ricardo Cristopher Figuera, former director of the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (Sebin). The first stated that what happened was “a new coup d’état” launched by a group of “traitors”; while the second assured that that day became a “betrayal of the Venezuelan people” by some of those involved with whom it was decided to “end the dictatorship” and that at the last minute they changed their minds.
«Here we are again in the Altamira distributor on April 30, but now there is the town, there is the militia, the security organisms; Our people are here to defend and continue to defend the Bolivarian Revolution, the Constitution of the Republic, President Nicolás Maduro. Let’s continue with the necessary unity and no one will be able to beat us,” said Cabello at a ceremony held in Caracas.
The also deputy to the National Assembly presided over by Jorge Rodríguez added that on 30A «the story is barely being told, because we must remember fundamental elements of that day: betrayal. I ask that it be the last betrayal against the revolution, let it be the last attempt of someone to betray our people, to turn our backs on the people and kneel before US imperialism.
About the then director of Sebin, Cristopher Figuera, Cabello affirmed that “he is licking the boots of North American imperialism. While this is happening, the people of Venezuela are standing here, resisting, being reborn, and in permanent Revolution. Now we have a patriotic general who will never betray the country.”
For his part, Cristopher Figuera, who under his management at Sebin Leopoldo López was released from house arrest, pointed out that the political, institutional and economic situation in Venezuela has worsened and that there is only an effort to show a false peace and reactivation.
“Today, April 30, three years have passed since that feat that aimed to put an end to the dictatorship that criminally oppresses and banishes our citizens; unfortunately it also became the day of betrayal of the glorious people of Venezuela, when the main parties involved unanimously decided to remain in their comfort zone, side by side with the robbery and with their backs to the Venezuelan Nation of which they pride themselves on being protectors, “wrote Cristopher Figuera in a letter released this Saturday.
He stressed that the administration of Nicolás Maduro seeks to perpetuate the state of defenselessness, abandonment and need of the population. “Witnesses are the Venezuelans themselves of the recent propaganda operations, with which they have tried to whitewash the drug regime, showing a false image of prosperity and fictitious improvements in the economy. It is enough just to visit a public school, a public hospital, a police station or a military barracks in any city in the country, to perceive the sad and shameful reality».
The general and former director of the Sebin asked in his letter to the personnel of the Armed Forces «what is the Homeland, model of country and Nation that you want to leave to your children, your grandchildren? Our people are losing their lives and things continue the same or worse, while a criminal leadership has kidnapped our beloved country.
He argued that “the authentic traitors to the Homeland have turned out to be worse than those whom they tried to replace, despite their proclamation of June 24, 1992, which was called Why did we rise up?, but, the people despite today to find himself subjugated he despises them and clearly knows that, in free and transparent elections, they have no chance of remaining at the forefront of the destinies of the millions of souls that make up our great Nation.
