Three Uruguayans among the 100 best footballers of the 2021/22 season

The Marca newspaper chose Karim Benzema as the best, while his teammates Thibaut Courtois and Vinicius completed the podium.

The newspaper Brand of Spain published this Thursday the 100 best soccer players of the 2021/22 season, according to said media. Three Uruguayans appear on the list, while the podium belongs to Real Madrid.

In position 55 appears Ronald Araujo, defender of Barcelona. During the campaign with the Blaugrana he played 42 games, playing 3,271 minutes between all competitions and where he contributed four goals.

Further up, at number 24, is Federico Valverde. The Real Madrid midfielder closed the season with one goal and two assists in 46 games played, in which he added 2,862 minutes. He was key to obtaining the Spanish LaLiga and, above all, the Champions League, where he provided the goal assist.

Finally, the best Uruguayan was Darwin Núñez. He was signed by Liverpool thanks to his great campaign with Benfica, where he scored 34 goals in 41 games. 6 of those goals were in the Champions League, where he played 10 games.
