Three subjects arrested for illegal felling of trees in Cojedes

Officials of the Bolivarian National Police arrested three men for illegally felling trees and carrying a false mobilization guide. The incident occurred this Tuesday afternoon in the Garachico sector of the Ezequiel Zamora municipality, Cojedes.

According to the police report, the officials were patrolling in the area, they saw a Mercedes Benz truck that was loaded with rounds of Melina type wood (Gmelina arbórea), so they requested the corresponding permits.

In the verification of the logging and mobilization permits, one of the detainees presented two white sheets with the information of the mobilization guide to a sawmill in the city of Valencia, Carabobo state. When verifying the document, police officials detected that the QR code did not provide information.

After consulting with the Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism (MINEC), it was confirmed that the guide number was non-existent and that the validating code actually belonged to an old guide (August 2025) in the name of another person and for a different vehicle (Scania brand).

The procedure was left at the disposal of the Public Ministry of the state of Cojedes, to carry out the corresponding procedures and determine the criminal responsibility of the subjects involved in the case.
