Three soldiers lost their lives, five were injured and four more are trying to be located.after the attack with explosives against troops of the Fourth Brigade of the National Army when they were traveling near the Nutibara township in the municipality of Frontino in western Antioquia.
The facts occurred between midnight and early morning this Wednesday, April 20, when control and patrol operations were carried out in that area of Antioquia
According to preliminary versions, the attack would have been perpetrated by the Edwin Román Vásquez substructure of the Clan del Golfowhich has a presence in this area of the department.

The Seventh Division of the Army reported that once these events occurred, “the nurses
combat medics provided first aid to wounded personnel, and all actions are being carried out to evacuate them to a medical center“.
Troops from the Fourth Brigade intensified actions to locate the soldiers reported missing and also find the whereabouts of those responsible for the attack with explosives.

Recently, the Attorney General’s Office had managed to prosecute Gustavo Adolfo Salazar Elejalde, alias Moneda, alleged leader of this substructure Edwin Román Vásquez Baye of the ‘Clan del Golfo’who is held responsible for the attack against the army in the last few hours.
This man was the one who gave instructions and armed guidance to the members of the illegal structure, according to the authorities.
The Seventh Division of the Army, through a statement, sent the “sincere and heartfelt condolences to the relatives of these heroes of the country vilely assassinated when they fulfilled their mission of protecting the civilian population and its resources.”
