Three soldiers arrested for alleged gasoline trafficking in San Tomé

Six people, including three soldiers, were apprehended by police officers from the Freites municipality (Polyfreites), attached to the San Tomé station, for alleged fuel smuggling, after seizing more than 2,200 liters of gasoline.

The director of Polifreites, Commissioner Francisco Benites, reported that the capture took place in road section 15 near the San Tomé airport, when the suspects were transporting fuel in three vehicles, bound for Bolívar state.

The police chief explained that in the three sedan-type cars, they transported the gasoline distributed in 74 plastic bags, each with a capacity of 30 liters and several containers of different sizes, with product that has not been quantified.

According to a minute of the Zone Command No. 52 of the Bolivarian National Guard (CZGNB-52), the three professional troops involved in the crime were identified as SM/3 Rober Campos Álvarez, SM/3 Miguel Brito Mota and S/2 Jesús González Altuve, attached to the San Félix People’s Guard Detachment, Bolívar state, who “are enjoying the second Christmas shift permit.”

The procedure, detainees and evidence were left to the order of the Prosecutor’s Office 21 of the Public Ministry.
