San Cristóbal.- The prisoners who escaped from the Najayo Men’s Correction and Rehabilitation Center (CCR) have not been located. They were identified as Yomael De Óleo Rodríguez, Brayan Alexander Ramírez and Rubén Amores Martínez, who are being pursued by the authorities, according to reports.
Meanwhile, the Public Prosecutor’s Office requested the imposition of preventive detention against a prisoner, Edison Reyes Paula (Bufalo), who was prevented from escaping and proceeded to attack a prison officer.
The prosecuting body requested that the Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of San Cristóbal impose the coercive measure on Reyes Paula, 19 years old, who was arrested in flagrante delicto on the aforementioned day, while trying to escape along with three other inmates from the Najayo penitentiary center, where he is being held in preventive detention for crimes of robbery, criminal association and violation of Law 631-16 on Weapons, Ammunition and Related Materials.

The request for coercive measures details that in order to commit the crime, the inmates broke part of the bars that provide access to the outside of the penitentiary center and intercepted an agent who was at the duty post.
The court states that when the agent prevented Reyes Paula from escaping, he attacked him with a homemade metal object approximately 17 inches long, which was seized from him and is part of the evidence supporting the request for a coercive measure.
In this new process, Reyes Paula faces charges for violating articles 245 and 309 of the Dominican Penal Code, which punish evasions or attempted evasions and injuries, blows and acts of violence.
Reyes Paula tried to escape from the center with fugitives Yomael De Óleo Rodríguez, Brayan Alexander Ramírez and Rubén Amores Martínez, who are being pursued by the authorities.
