MIAMI, United States. — Three Cubans left the concentration of the national field hockey team, which is in Barcelona doing a training base.
They are Yadira Miclin, Marianela López and Daylin Suárez, whose whereabouts are currently unknown.
“Cuban hockey players Yadira Miclin, Marianela López and Daylin Suárez left the concentration in Barcelona, Spain, according to sources, in recent hours,” reported writer and journalist Francys Romero.
According to the reporter, the Cuban women’s hockey team “is touring Europe in preparation for the Central American Games in San Salvador 2023.”
Romero indicated that with the three new dropouts there are more than 75 Cubans who have left official delegations between 2022 and 2023.
“More than 75 Cuban athletes from more than 10 sports have left official delegations between 2022 and 2023 and the number will continue to rise. This does not include those who have left through other paths such as sports leave, retirement, illegal or legal way, ”he added.
At the end of April, the Cuban rowers Maykol Julio Álvarez, Yoelvis Javier Hernández and Osvaldo Pérez left the team that participated in the qualifier for the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile.
In March, the talented Cuban wrestlers Yoannia Pérez (50 kg) and Liliana Duane (53 kg) took advantage of a stopover in Mexico to leave the island’s delegation that was traveling to El Salvador.

That same month, four Cuban karate fighters left the island’s team, which was located in Oaxtepec, Morelos state, Mexico, to participate in the qualifying tournament that offered spots for the Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile and the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Savior of 2023.
