A 9-year-old girl suffered second-degree burns on 80% of her body.
The Mayor’s Office of Itagüí (Antioquia) reported a structural fire in a house in the El Progreso neighborhood, which affected the second floor of the building, where several people were.
Likewise, the Mayor’s Office reported the injuries suffered by the three people who were in the house, including a 9-year-old girl, who has second-degree burns on 80% of her body.
Meanwhile, a 27-year-old man has first-degree burns on 40% of his body and a 26-year-old woman has second-degree burns on 84% of her body.

The victims were transferred to healthcare centers, where they remain with a reserved prognosis.
According to Sergeant Henry Muñoz, deputy commander of the Itagüí firefighters, lThe victims were transferred to healthcare centers.
The two women were initially referred to the Antioquia Clinic and then to the San Vicente Fundación Hospital, where they remain with a reserved prognosis.
The Fire Department arrived at the scene in coordination with the Municipal Risk Management Council and the Medical Emergency System, who responded to the emergency with a machine, a rescue vehicle and an ambulance.
According to the rescue agencies, The fire originated in the kitchen of the property due to a leak in a propane gas cylinder, which caused the fire to spread rapidly, leaving three people injured.

From the Mayor’s Office of Itagüí they called on all citizens to take extreme safety measures when handling flammable elements and gas systems in their homes.
“We will continue working in coordination with the competent authorities to clarify the facts and guarantee the safety of all Itagüíseños,” said the mayor of Itagüí, Diego Torres.
