One person died and two others were injured after suffering a fall while climbing the Mocho-Choshuenco volcano, in the commune of Panguipulli, in the Los Ríos Region.
Specialist mountain personnel from the Liquiñe Carabineros Tenure, the Onemi and rescue teams, as well as the GOPE and a helicopter from the institution, arrived at the scene.
The two wounded were taken to the Valdivia Base Hospital, while today the proceedings to rescue the body of the deceased person begin.
The prosecutor on duty, Carlos Silva, pointed out that “last night, personnel from the Carabineros de Panguipulli contacted me to inform me that the two injured people, who would be a man and a woman, were transferred in the institutional Carabineros helicopter to the Base Hospital of Valdivia for the purposes of being able to attend to his injuries”.
“Regarding the person who is deceased, today Tuesday, the Gope will proceed to urge for the recovery of the body, since yesterday, fundamentally due to the issue of light and the difficulty to access It was difficult to carry out this work,” added prosecutor Silva.
The persecutor commented that “the identities of those involved have not been informed to me yet because Carabineros did not yet have that information, but probably they will have it today.”
