The president of the State Health Services Administration (ASSE), Leonardo Cipriani, notified the evolution of the covid-19 outbreak at the Hospital Luis Piñeyro del Campo geriatric center, in the La Unión neighborhood.
As reported Underlined, The number of residents with the disease amounted to 78, although 21 registrations are expected in the next few hours. As for the officials, the number remained at 46, with another 14 in quarantine.
For his part, the patient who was admitted to the Spanish Hospital died, because “he had a lot of comorbidity”Cipriani explained. Two other patients with a positive diagnosis of covid-19 died last Monday, but the hierarch affirms that his death was not due to covid-19, although they did have the disease, because one of them was in palliative care and the other had previous pathologies.
The hospital center, due to the health situation in which the country finds itself due to the omicron variant, had already implemented the use by officials of overtunic, surgical mask and face mask at the time of feeding or close contact with patients, ASSE sources reported to The Observer.
Visits are suspended for the moment. In any case, before the covid-19 outbreak, the number of visitors per patient had been restricted and its modality was changed, being exclusively outdoors and controlling the use of masks and alcohol gel.
Starting from the focus, the officials use the complete covid-19 personal protective equipment, areas were established in the pavilions for positive and negative patients and protocols for circulation and operation of the hospital were drawn up.
