The Queretaro Prosecutor’s Office reported this Thursday of the arrest of three other people allegedly involved in the violence that was generated between fans in the match Queretaro-Atlas of Mexican soccer last Saturday.
“This day, elements of the Police Crime Investigation arrested two people in the state capital; one more, went before this authority to surrender under his will and in the company of his lawyers” explained the institution in a press release.
In total, the authorities have captured 17 possible criminals for the massive battle that left 26 injured in the game of Queretaro and the Atlas of the ninth day of the tournament Closure 2022.
However, the prosecution has only reported that six were linked to the process, while another two were released by a judge because “there was no certainty that the graphic materials presented as evidence were from the place and date of the events.”
The institution revealed last Monday that they have 26 arrest warrants, of which 17 have already been executed.
“The folder initiated by the events that occurred in the Gallos vs. Atlas game remains open and the investigations are ongoing, so there is the possibility of identifying more people and achieving more arrests,” promised the prosecution.
The events at the La Corregidora stadium also brought punishment from the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) to the White Roosters of Queretaro.
The FMF determined Tuesday after an owners’ meeting that the Queretaro will play its home games without fans for a year and must pay a fine of one and a half million pesos, about 75,000 dollars.
In addition, the directive headed by Gabriel Solares was expelled from football in the country for five years and the painting passed into the possession of its former owner, Jorge Alberto Hank Inzunzaalso owner of Tijuana.
