Three murders, drug trafficking, and only house arrest?: judge under magnifying glass

The Ministry of Health reported that the number of people affected by dengue rises to 165 and there are 107 cases of chikungunya in the country.

The weekly report of the General Directorate of Health Surveillance states that, to date, 4,249 notifications of dengue have been registered in Paraguay, of which 165 are cases of the disease, 1 of them corresponds to a new case identified in the last week, of the serotype DEN-1, coming from the district of Salto del Guairá (Canindeyú). With regard to chikungunya, there are 107 positives, of which 4 are new cases of the disease.

In the last three weeks, the average number of notifications of suspected cases of dengue is 124, and 41 add suspicions of chikungunya.

Central and Canindeyú are among the departments with the most notifications of dengue. Regarding chikungunya, the largest number of notifications is concentrated in Central.

In this last week, an increase in dengue notifications was verified in San Pedro Norte, Ñeembucú and Paraguarí, according to partial data. In this same period, a cut in viral circulation was verified in Concepción, Caazapá, Misiones and Alto Paraguay.

The circulating serotypes within the national territory are: DEN-1 in Itapúa, Amambay, Canindeyú and Boquerón; DEN-2 in Guaira and Pdte. There is; and there is evidence of co-circulation of both serotypes in Asunción, Caaguazú and Central.

To break the life cycle of Aedes aegypti, the mosquito that transmits dengue, Zika and chikungunya, the Ministry of Health indicates that it is essential to insist on daily control of the patio, as well as the interior of the house, and discard any object in disuse that accumulates water.
