Sunday will be elections for three Brazilian municipalities: Itapemirim, in Espírito Santo; Porto Belo and Presidente Castello Branco, in Santa Catarina. Voters in these municipalities will choose today (5th), in supplementary elections, who will be their mayors and vice mayors.
The new election is due to a determination of the legislation, foreseen for cases in which there is a definitive cancellation of mandates of the holders of the positions by the Electoral Justice. Those elected will hold office until December 31, 2024.
According to the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), voting will take place from 7 am to 5 pm in the city of Espírito Santo and from 8 am to 5 pm in Santa Catarina municipalities.
Porto Belo
The candidates for mayor of Porto Belo are David Jordelino da Silva (PRTB), Joel Orlando Lucinda (MDB) and Rosaura de Oliveira Rodrigues (PT).
According to the TSE, the new election was scheduled “after the mayor and deputy decided to resign from the positions they were elected to in 2020”. President Castello Branco
