SANTIAGO.- The Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of this judicial district imposed three months in preventive detention on a man accused of killing another man, beating him several times and then throwing him into a cistern.
Judge Wendy Tavárez ordered that Cristian de Jesús Henríquez Blanco, 43, comply with the coercive measure at the La Isleta Correction and Rehabilitation Center, in Moca, Espaillat province.
The measure request instance states that the defendant killed Braulyn de Jesús Alcántara (Braulio), 28 years old, by giving him a blunt blow and then struggled with him until throwing him into a cistern where he drowned.
Regarding the facts, the Santiago Prosecutor’s Office details that the victim, while trying to save his life, caused the perpetrator abrasions or scratches on both arms; In addition, the accused presents injuries consisting of a sutured wound on the right shoulder, linear abrasions on both arms, parchment-like abrasions on both knees, loss of a lower incisor tooth, and ecchymosis on the fifth finger of the right hand.
On behalf of the prosecution body, the litigator Heidys de León showed numerous evidence, both testimonial, expert, photographic and surveillance camera videos, which show that Henríquez Blanco was the last person who was with the victim.
