The regional director of the Ministry of Health in Chiriquí, Gladys Novoa, gave details of the condition of the 10 infants who were injured in the traffic accident in the Gualaca area.
The specialist said that three of the little ones are in critical condition while the remaining seven are stable.
Novoa stressed that the infants were stabilized in the emergency room of the José Domingo de Obaldía Maternal and Child Hospital, and taken to intensive care; but that due to his “critical” condition, it has not been possible to perform certain tests, such as tomographies, since his mobilization is difficult.
Of the 10 minors cared for by the health authorities, 5 are girls and 5 are boys between the ages of 4 and 11.
Johny Parra, director of the Maternal and Child Hospital, asked the population to come and donate blood, which will be necessary to continue caring for the victims of the accident. “Even health personnel are donating blood,” he said.
