Three injured in a shooting near the IMSS in Cuernavaca

“The information that circulated among authorities was that apparently some probable perpetrators had entered and barricaded themselves inside Social Security clinic 1 on Plan de Ayala Avenue in Cuernavaca, generating a strong mobilization,” said the official.

“The State Prosecutor’s Office with the support of the Mexican Army carried out an exhaustive review of the entire hospital facility, except for the operating room and intensive care areas where it is not possible to enter, and it has already been ruled out that there is any risk for the patients and for the staff,” he added.

The shooting caused panic among patients and hospital staff, who sought shelter in waiting rooms and offices.

“We have three people injured by firearm splinters, who are stable, we have no deaths,” Carmona told the media.

The attacker fled after firing his firearm. Authorities are already checking security cameras to locate him.

“There is a person who was admitted as a detainee in the early hours of the day and then we are going to corroborate if he had any relationship with this event with this person who is being detained but hospitalized,” the prosecutor explained.
