On the last day of the term for the registration of political alliances, three indigenous organizations left letters in the Supreme Electoral Court (TSE) with their request for direct participation in the next general elections on equal terms with political parties.
The information was confirmed near midnight by Luis Fernando Arteaga, secretary of the TSE Chamber, at a press conference.
“Notes of intention of participation have been received. This documentation will be aware of the Plenary Chamber and we have not restricted at the reception because we understand that there is a constitutional right, but must be previously considered in the Plenary Chamber and wait for a decision of the Constitutional Court,” he said.
The Confederation of Indigenous Peoples of Bolivia (CIDOB) and the National Confederation of Indigenous Nations originating in Bolivia (Conniob) They are among the organizations that left their requests.
